Gracias por la visita y el comentario, Lionel! I've never been to Ocho7Ocho. A speakeasy bar in BA. Sounds great! And so true about Bar El Federal. I like their picadas (plates with cold cuts, cheeses, and olives) with one of their great beers or ciders. Mmmm.

Can you believe I've never been to the Chacarita cemetery? I love the one in Recoleta and I'm reading "The Peron Novel" now, so I'm going to have to make it to Chacarita soon!

Great suggestions. Thanks so much!

[...] Rowdy folklore and dancing, skillful horsemanship, manly gauchos (Argentinean cowboys), inexhaustible amounts of grilled meat, empanadas, and other regional foods, fairly priced and beautifully handcrafted arts & crafts. Oh, yes. I do love the Feria de Mataderos. It’s one of my favorite Sunday activities in Buenos Aires. Watch our video to see if you want to add Mataderos to your list of things to do in Buenos Aires.
Thanks so much for adding these. You're right. We could have a much longer list. My mother and niece were just here for two weeks and they could have stayed another two weeks without seeing the same thing twice or ever being bored.

I can't wait to check out the Bar del Chino... sounds like the kind of place I will love. Thanks again!

I may add Museo de la Ciudad, one block from Plaza de Mayo (only in the weeken, weekends are closed), the night visit to la Reserva Ecologica, visit el Bar del Chino (pure Tango) in pompea (only go with trustful taxi driver and or with local who know the area).
Lots of things, dont want to turn your list into the 1000things to do.

Hi Jonathan. Thanks for visiting our blog. It sounds like you and Carrie are having a great time here in Buenos Aires. Glad the recommendations are useful.

There are so many things to do here that listing only ten was pretty hard. I'd add a couple of restaurants I think are unique and different enough to give you a good feel the variety here: Social Paraiso, Sifones y Dragones, Lezama, Verde Llama, and El Obrero. I also really like El Ultimo Beso and a place a bit out of the way called La Escondida in Nuñez. You can find their listings on the Oleo Guide at http://www.guiaoleo.com.ar/index.php

And since you're staying a while longer, you might want to go to an estancia. One that friends of mine have been to and thought highly of is Estancia Los Dos Hermanos http://www.estancialosdoshermanos.com/

Hope you guys have a great stay here. Keep up that fantastic blog you've got!

Thanks for the recommendations. We've only done a few of the things on this list even though we've already been here a couple of weeks. 4 more weeks to go, and headed to Iguazu falls shortly, so we'll have to rush if we want to get all this in. But it looks like things we'll really want to do.

Anything that didn't make the list, but should have?
