Rates for The Hideaway

All rates are in US dollars. For each rental, there is a $30 USD charge for cleaning and laundry. It’s a one-time fee. There are no administrative fees.

Methods of Payment

1. Cash – We prefer that you pay in cash (US dollars) at the moment of check in. There are no transaction fees or banking fees when you pay in cash, so this is the cheapest route.
2. Wire Transfer – You can pay by wire transfer to a US bank account. In this case, there is a $10 US banking fee to be paid by the renter in addition to the full rent. This should be paid before your arrival to ensure that it has reached our bank account by the time you are checking in.
3. Credit Card – Credit cards can be used through PayPal. There is an additional 5% transaction fee charged by PayPal that will be added on to the rental amount. If you’d like to use your credit card or pay through PayPal, you will need to let us know in advance so that we can send the request (rent + 5%) to you before you leave home. You’ll have to pay this before leaving home because PayPal blocks access when you try to use your account while overseas.

Please Note: We’ve had several people come to stay with us over the past few months who’ve intended to pay by credit card through PayPal once they arrive. In every case, they’ve  been blocked from using PayPal from abroad. It’s a security issue and a good policy. But it leaves all of us in a difficult situation.

If you are intending to use PayPal to pay your rent, please keep in mind that for security reasons PayPal may block your account if you try to access it while abroad.
