This beautifully decorated apartment is more of a home than a vacation rental. It belongs to a tango teacher who spends most of the year in Switzerland. Warm and inviting colors with bold touches of reds and yellows, fabulous textiles and an inventive use of space, this one-bedroom loft has a large sunny terrace, great design, and is just two blocks away from Plaza Dorrego in San Telmo.
The bedroom has a king-size bed with a firm mattress. An office space five steps above the bedroom has a double futon where two more people can sleep. As there isn’t much privacy between the two sleeping areas, it’s not really suited for two couples, rather a group of friends or family members.
You’ll want to explore San Telmo’s casas de tango, small traditional restaurants known as bodegones, old-fashioned bars called Nares notables, antique and vintage shops, and the trendy new restaurants, cafes, and fancy boutiques. Day or night, San Telmo is full of activity.

A very strategic location, The Hideaway is located on Paseo Colon which makes grabbing a cab or choosing a bus (there are tons with stops just below us) easy as can be. Walk two blocks up to Plaza Dorrego, the main square in San Telmo, or two blocks down to Puerto Madero. It’s in the same building as The Loft, The Terrace, and The Oasis.
We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have had such amazing guests over the years and we’re delighted to know they’ve loved our spaces and our services.

“My boyfriend and I had the best time at the Hideaway. The apartment itself is super funky (in the best way) and has so much character. There’s lots of color throughout, great light, and was completely equipped with everything we needed. For example, we forgot to pack sunscreen, but no matter, there was a bottle in the bathroom cabinet for us to use. It’s one of those places that seems to collect new items with each new set of guests, and all of its acquisitions help make it feel more like a home. We cooked a number of times in the kitchen, and found everything we needed readily available. The rooftop terrace is gorgeous, and we enjoyed many bottles of wine and snacks with newly made friends there. It was a great place for us to not only feel like we were at home during our trip, but also invite others we met during our stay over to hang out. As an extra surprise, Angela also has a cleaning lady who comes once a week to wash towels, sheets, and thoroughly clean the apartment.
The Hideaway is in a great location. We loved staying in San Telmo, and found it very easy to access all of our favorite local spots (bakery, produce market, ice cream shop, restaurants/cafes….) from our apartment. It’s also very easy to access public transportation (buses, subway) to see the rest of Buenos Aires.
As amazing as the apartment is, Angela (and her boyfriend John) were even more amazing and the best hosts. They were so incredibly welcoming and helpful. Angela keeps a blog ((website hidden)) where she writes about a bunch of fun activities to do in Buenos Aires as well great instructions for how to make those activities happen! We took a lot of her recommendations and had a great time. Angela also lives in the same building, so when our pilot light went out and we weren’t able to figure out how to turn it back on, she was there in a heartbeat to help out.
We definitely recommend the Hideaway, especially for longer term stays, and we’ll stay there again (or another of Angela’s apartments) when we return!”

“JUST GO THERE!!!
The Hideaway is amazing! exposed brick walls, lots of space and an absolutely amazing roof terrace with a hammock, chairs and table and wonderful plants. the loft is quiet, placed at the back of the building, very clean, comfortable and it doesn’t lack of anything.
Angela is an absolutely lovely host, helped us with getting great taxi deals from and to the airport, has lots of tips for where to go, where to eat but also about other areas in Buenos Aires.
She printed us tickets for a museum night and was there late at night to welcome us when we arrived after the long flight from London.
The flat is situated in the heart of San Telmo with lots of nice restaurants nearby, grocery shops and small supermarkets just a few metres away and a very good starting point to explore the city!”

“Angela and the Hideaway were both amazing experiences and certainly enhanced our stay in Buenos Aires.
Before we even arrived in Buenos Aires and had booked with Angela, she was generous in helping acquaint me with the city and other places to stay. Angela is exceptional with her organization and spot on recommendations. She is an amazing resource so accept everything she says. She was meticulous in handling and thinking of everything to make our stay comfortable.
The Hideaway is even better than it looks in pictures. The layout makes the place feel spacious and very homey. There is a terrace on the top floor so you can get outdoors and have a private space in the city. We had our two children, 6 and 11 years old, with us and they did not want to leave.
We had been told San Telmo was not a safe area for kids. However, we felt completely safe and, once in the Hideaway, our kids never wanted to leave.
If we ever moved to Buenos AIres this would be the place we would like to live in. Need I say more!!!!!
Thank you Angela!!!!”
