Vacation Rentals in San Telmo

We have handpicked each apartment in our collection of vacation rentals for its style, location, and historic surroundings. Because they are so unique, we tend to attract guests that are a lot like us, urban vagabonds with good taste. Our guests are independent travelers who want to feel like they are living in Buenos Aires, not just visiting it. If you are attracted to San Telmo, rather than Palermo or Recoleta, you will like the bohemian, artsy vibe of the barrio. Our vacation rentals are all housed in historic buildings that recall Argentina’s heyday. A time when San Telmo was the center and tango was being born.

Our team is small, just eight of us. And our collection is small, we’ll keep it to roughly ten rentals in and around San Telmo. Once you book, we’ll send you our wonderful 18-page guide to Buenos Aires filled with tips, itineraries, and insider information. We’re here for you and happy to help make your trip the best it can be.

To help you choose from among our selection, we’ve summarized each listing. There’s plenty more information and more photos on the individual listing pages. Let us know how we can help.

One-Bedroom Apartments in San Telmo

The LoftThe Loft was our first vacation rental in San Telmo. It’s a one-bedroom loft with a double bed. We have bedding for the single futon downstairs where a third person can sleep. Because it’s a loft, there are no walls separating the living spaces. The living room, kitchen and half bath are downstairs. The bedroom and full bath with shower and amazing water pressure are upstairs. Three people can sleep here, but keep in mind that people downstairs can see upstairs through the metal grate. The grated loft space does not have a railing, so guests with small children may not feel comfortable here. The Loft rents for  $60 – $65 US per night, or $385 – $420 US per week, or $1350 US per month.
The Depto The Depto is a one-bedroom apartment located on Defensa Street. It’s our best location as Defensa is the main street of San Telmo and home to the Sunday Antique Fair. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a full bed (large enough for two kids of a couple that snuggles) in the living room. So, The Depto sleeps four. The bedroom is separate from the living area. There is a foyer and a large bathroom dividing the two spaces. An open kitchen makes cooking meals a more social experience and the breakfast area is a lovely little nook surrounded by windows. We re updating our photos and video of this apartment, so please write to see the video walk through. The Depto rents for  $65 -70 US per night, or $420 – $455 US per week, or $1350 US per month.

The HideawayThe Hideaway is a one-bedroom loft. It has a king-size bed in the bedroom and there is a double futon in the study. There isn’t much separation between the two sleeping quarters, so while this apartment can sleep four, it’s not ideal for two couples. There’s one bathroom with a full bathtub and shower head. And best of all, there is a large sunny terrace with a great view of the San Telmo Pedro Church. Small children and elderly guests may find the stairs difficult. The Hideaway rents for $70 – $75 US per night, or $420 – $490 US per week, or $1500 US per month.
The Terrace The Terrace is a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a gorgeous private terrace. The bedroom window opens to the terrace, so you can wake up to the birds singing and the lovely view of the San Pedro Telmo church. There is a double bed in the upstairs bedroom and one bathroom with a half tub and a shower downstairs. Also downstairs is the fully-equipped kitchen and mid-century modern living room. The Terrace is perfect for a couple, but not suitable for mobility impaired guests as the stairs are quite steep. The Terrace rents for $60 – $65 US per night, or $385 – $420 US per week, or $1350 US per month.

Two Bedroom Apartments in San Telmo

The Gallery The Gallery is a refined, French classic, two-bedroom apartment that can sleep four. With two bathrooms, it is our most comfortable apartment for two couples or guests wishing for more privacy between the sleeping spaces.  It’s a spacious apartment in an historic building with two balconies overlooking Defensa Street. The guest bathroom has both a tub and shower and the master bathroom has a walk-in shower just beyond the massive walk-in closet. The kitchen is very large and fully equipped. There is a colorful breakfast nook for more informal meals. The Gallery rents for $110 US per night, $700 US per week or $2400 US per month.
The Oasis The Oasis is our most artsy apartment. It can sleep three, two in the master bedroom and one on the twin bed in the upstairs bedroom. There is one bathroom on the bottom floor with a large walk-in shower, no tub. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a great vintage stove and oven. Though it is on the second floor in a building with an elevator, small children and elderly guests may feel uncomfortable staying in the upstairs room because of the staircase. The Oasis rents for $70 – $75 US per night, $455 – $490 US per week or $1500 US per month.

The PlazaThe Plaza is on the third floor of a 1915 building just steps from Plaza Dorrego. It’s a two-bedroom apartment that can sleep four. The bedrooms are upstairs. There’s a full bed in the master and twin beds in the guest bedroom. Also upstairs is the master bathroom with huge tub and shower. The guest bathroom is downstairs and has a walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped. The dining table seats six and there are two bar stools for a more informal breakfast or snack. The Plaza rents for $80 – 85 US per night, $490 – 525 US per week or $1500 US per month.
The Balcony Our favorite things about The Balcony are the stained glass in the foyer and the lovely balcony overlooking Balcarce Street. It’s a two-bedroom apartment. There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom and twin beds in the guest bedroom. Both bedrooms have doors that open onto the balcony. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. There’s room for four at the dining table and a small bar with two bar stools in the kitchen. The bathroom has a bear claw tub with shower head. The Balcony rents for $80 – 85 US per night, $490 – $525 US per week or $1500 US per month.

Three-Bedroom House in Barracas

Guesthouse
Foyer
Balcony

The Guesthouse is located just one block outside of San Telmo, right off of Caseros Street, the prettiest street in the neighborhood. It’s a more residential area. There are three bus lines that pass just in front of the house making it easy to get around the city. With three separate bedrooms, The Guesthouse can sleep six people very comfortably. There are two full bathrooms. In the guest bathroom, there is a bathtub and a shower head. In the master bathroom, there is a huge walk-in shower in gorgeous polished cement. The kitchen awesome. It’s funky and fabulous. An amazing stove and oven, and plenty of dishes, pots and pans, for those who enjoy cooking in. There’s a small balcony off the kitchen and a larger one off of the dining room. Our most typical rental in terms of architecture, The Guesthouse is a traditional home decorated beautifully with flea market finds, European antiques and gorgeous Andean textiles. The Guesthouse rents for $100 US per night, $630 per week, or $2015 per month.

Four-Bedroom Casa Bohemia in San Telmo

CasaBohemia
Bed4
Kitchen

Casa Bohemia is also in an historic San Telmo residence. The lobby is elegant, the birdcage elevator is stunning, and Casa Bohemia takes up one entire floor. It’s our largest vacation rental. Located on Peru Street, between Av. Independencia and Estados Unidos, you’ll be one block away from the famous Mercado de San Telmo and three blocks from Plaza Dorrego. Casa Bohemia can sleep eight. It has four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms. There are three double beds and one queen. The room with the queen has the en-suite bathroom, which has a separate tub and shower. Each bedroom has an armoire and several have desks. The living room and dining room face the street and both have tall French doors that open onto juliet balconies. There’s a lovely yellow foyer, a reading room, two long hallways, and a gorgeous green kitchen. The owner chose the name Casa Bohemia. We love their taste. The tango-inspired artwork and beautiful antiques match the vibe of San Telmo perfectly. Casa Bohemia rents for $140 -160 US per night, $800 – 900 per week, or $2600 – 3000 per month.
